In città potrete infatti visitare il laboratorio del Battiloro più antico di Venezia, l’unico in Italia e in Europa che trasforma ancora i lingotti d’oro in foglie estremamente sottili, usando un metodo risalente al 18° secolo.
La leggenda narra che Re Mida amasse così tanto l’oro che persino i suoi pasti fossero fatti di questo metallo prezioso. Fin dall’antichità, infatti, la sua grande versatilità ha permesso di utilizzarlo anche nella decorazione di cibi e bevande.
Stiamo parlando di oro puro al 100% 24Kt, frutto di una rigorosa lavorazione, attenta a tutte le normative che conferiscono la certificazione di decorazione alimentare commestibile.
Le ricche corti italiane iniziarono ad usarlo a tavola come simbolo di opulenza (si racconta che già nel 1561, in occasione di una festa, alcune pietanze fossero ricoperte d’oro), ma a Venezia le monache del Convento di Santa Maria Celeste impastavano con l’oro anche i Bussolai, i tipici biscotti della tradizione veneta…
